Inmate charged in breast milk assault on jailer

Posted 3/6/2010 11:15 AM ET

OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) — A woman in jail for public intoxication is accused of assaulting a jailer by squirting breast milk at her.

WYMT-TV reports 31-year-old Toni Tramel was arrested Thursday on a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

But as she was changing into an inmate uniform she squirted breast milk into the face of a female deputy who was with her.

Tramel now faces a felony charge of third degree assault on a police officer. Her bond was set at $10,000.

Wow!
I better not squirt anyone standing near me when I'm milking my goats, huh?
I'd hate to have to go to prison for it!

I wonder where the child was, when all this was going on? Maybe in the care of the woman's mother? Perhaps it was being looked after by a neighbor? The bottom line is: this breast milk sprayer needs some serious Rehab and lifestyle changes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif)

Can alcohol cross into the milk?
I know antibiotics won't work if a goat gets mastitis unless introduced into the breast tissue through the nipple opening.

Drugs do, through the blood stream,

Isn't alcohol a Drug ?

thats how they determine your intoxication level by the Alcohol that is transfered into the lungs
through your blood and then exhaled through the Breathalizer

right?

Urine tests . . . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/oops.gif)

Drugs given in the body and not the udder won't treat the udder for mastitis. I don't see why it would be any different with humans.
I've never had mastitus in my goats yet but I've read up a bit on it to get prepared.
They said giving a shot of penicillin in the body won't cross into the udder (won't do any good), and injecting it into the udder could be fatal to the goat.
So with that information, apparently the antibiotic is not crossing into the udder or milk glands. That's why I was questioning if alcohol would be any different.
The recommended treatment for mastitis is giving an antibiotic, such as penicillin through the orifice of the nipple with a special applicator.
(I can't afford a vet (vets cost more than the worth of the goat) so I try to do as much medical treatment as I can myself)

Studies have shown infants consuming breast milk with alcohol concentrations at approximately 30mg/dl, or 0.03%, and higher have exhibited distinctive changes in:

* Feeding behavior: baby consumes less if the milk contains alcohol.
* Sleeping: baby sleeps less and wakes more frequently.
apart from adding to the expenditure.

Alcohol consumption and breastfeeding: Alcohol can easily enter breast milk and then get into the baby's body. It has been shown that motor development is adversely affected in those babies exposed to alcohol because of maternal consumption.

Maybe you are on to something there!
I wonder if an antibiotic were to be mixed with alcohol?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)
